We're experiencing outages on our network

Whareponga, Hiruharama, Ruatoria, Te Puia, Makarika, Waipiro Bay - There is currently a power issue at Gisborne.net's Hikurangi Repeater, and the site will lose power completely early this afternoon. An attempt to attend this fault earlier this morning via helicopter failed due to poor weather conditions. A technician was then dispatched to the site. However, this was unsuccessful due to trees blocking the track and no safe alternative route available. We are now waiting for the weather to clear to get a helicopter there this afternoon. We apologise for this inconvenience, but please know we are actively working to resolve this as soon as weather permits.

Tikitiki / Rangitukia - Customers connected to the WiFi tower above the Waiapu River mouth may be experiencing random outages. The tower was damaged in the strong winds on 18 September. The solar panels were affected and are only providing limited power to keep the service running. Gisborne.Net, who owns the infrastructure, is preparing a repair plan. A larger replacement tower is needed, which will require helicopter access to install. Timing for the replacement will depend on weather and access conditions.
